[su_row][su_column size=”1/2″]Hiking through the forest under the protection of a green canopy is something I often find myself doing. From a compositional point of view, everything is green and dark. The scene often is a blend of earth tones set against a blue sky. Serene but enveloping and difficult to draw focus to specific elements since everything is tonally the same.[/su_column] [su_column size=”1/2″]As seen under infrared light, the entire experience changes. All the dark greens transform into bright glowing hews of white, and the underlying support structure of branches stand out in perfect detail. Like some form of skeleton, the trees seem to hold down the billowing masses of leaves rising above them. As if being drawn from the earth by some mysterious force the leaves reach into darkened skies.[/su_column] [/su_row]
The autumn colors add fiery hews of orange and yellow to off white pinkish tones of I.R. light. Even the dull fallen leaves glow in rich vibrant tones making them stand out against the earth.
